MateriAI 2025 〜 計算物質科学分野におけるAI技術の活用 [Utilization of AI technology in the field of computational materials science]

開催趣旨

近年、人工知能（AI）は多分野で急速に発展しており、特にコード生成や自動化を行うエージェント技術は、新たな開発スタイルを切り拓く手法として注目を集めています。計算物質科学の領域でも、こうしたエージェントを活用することで、開発効率の向上や創造的なアイデアの創出に大きな可能性が広がっています。
今回のハッカソンでは、AIエージェントを活用したコード開発支援や作業効率化に重点を置き、まずはエージェントを使った開発ワークフローを体験します。コード生成・改善、デバッグ補助、作業自動化、情報収集など、エージェントが得意とするタスクを実際に活用しながら、日々の研究開発がどれほど加速するのかを体感していただきます。
さらに、エージェント技術の発展的な活用例として、複数のエージェントが協調して動作するマルチエージェント型の応用事例も紹介します。役割を持つエージェント同士のやり取りを通じて、これまで思いつかなかった視点やアプローチが生まれ、新しいアイデアの創出や創造的な問題解決につながる可能性が広がります。
これらの作業をチームで取り組むことで、互いの工夫や経験を共有しながら理解を深め、エージェント技術をより効率的に習得していくことができます。また、チームとしてのプロジェクト作業を進める中で、実践的なスキルや協働力も自然と身につけていくことができます。

In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has advanced rapidly across many fields, and agent technologies—especially those enabling code generation and workflow automation—have emerged as powerful tools that open up new development styles. In the field of computational materials science as well, leveraging such agents offers significant potential for improving development efficiency and fostering creative ideas.
In this hackathon, we will focus on using AI agents to support code development and streamline various tasks. Participants will experience development workflows powered by AI agents, including code generation and refinement, debugging assistance, task automation, and information gathering, gaining a firsthand sense of how much these tools can accelerate everyday research and development.
We will also introduce advanced applications of agent technologies, such as multi-agent workflows in which multiple agents collaborate and interact. The exchanges among agents with distinct roles can generate new perspectives and approaches, opening up opportunities for creative idea generation and more innovative problem-solving.
By working on these activities as a team, participants will be able to deepen their understanding while sharing ideas and techniques, enabling more efficient learning of agent technologies. In addition, progressing through team-based project work will naturally help develop practical skills and strengthen collaborative problem-solving abilities.

◾️参加対象
物質科学・計算科学・情報科学・数理科学・HPCに関連する若手研究者、ポスドク、大学院生 ※プログラミングの基本的な知識は必要です。
※注意事項
・参加者は指定ホテルに滞在していただきます。ホテルの予約は一括して事務局で行います。
・宿泊費のお支払方法など、詳細は参加お申し込みの方に別途Eメールでご連絡致します。
・ノートPCをご持参ください。
・チュートリアルの資料は事前配布する予定です。配布時に必要な環境も連絡しますので、各自PCに必要な環境をinstallの上、プログラムが動作することを確認した上で受講してください。

2泊3日分の宿泊費(朝食含む)：¥17000(税抜)
懇親会(初日と二日目に開催、希望者のみ)：¥6000程度/回

◾️Eligible Participants
Young researchers, postdocs, and graduate students related to materials science, computational science, information science, mathematical science, and HPC. Basic programming knowledge is required.
※Important Notes
・Participants will be required to stay at a designated hotel. The hotel reservations will be made collectively by the organizing committee.
・Payment methods for accommodation and other details will be communicated separately via email to those who register.
・Please bring your own laptop.
・Tutorial materials will be distributed in advance. You will also be informed of the necessary software environment. Please ensure that you have installed the required environment on your PC and that the program operates correctly before attending the course.
◾️Participation fee
Accommodation for 2 nights and 3 days (including breakfast): approx. ¥17,000 (excluding tax)
Banquet (held on the first and second days, for those who wish to attend): approx. ¥6,000 per session

◾️キャンセルポリシー/Cancellation Policy
宿泊施設のキャンセルポリシーに従い、以下のキャンセル料が適用されます：
・開催日の3日前までは無料
・2日前(1/30 17:00以降)からは宿泊費の50%
・前日(1/31 17:00以降)からは宿泊費の80%
・連絡なしの場合は宿泊費の100%
ただし、キャンセル人数が8名以上の場合には、以下の規定になります。
その場合は、参加者に事前連絡するようにします。
・開催日の15日前までは無料
・14日前から8日前までは宿泊費の10%
・7日前から2日前までは宿泊費の20%
・前日は宿泊費の50%、当日は80%（連絡なしの場合は100%）
キャンセルをご希望の場合は、必ず事前に事務局（担当者）までご連絡ください。
なお、事務局から宿泊施設への連絡には一日程度のお時間をいただきます。
In accordance with the cancellation policy of the accommodation
facility, the following fees will apply:
・Free cancellation up to 3 days before the event date
・50% of the accommodation fee from 2 days prior (after 5:00 PM on 1/30)
・80% of the accommodation fee from the day before (after 5:00 PM on 1/31)
・100% of the accommodation fee for no-shows
However, if 8 or more participants cancel, the following policy applies.
In such cases, we will notify participants in advance.

・10% of the accommodation fee from 14 to 8 days before
・20% of the accommodation fee from 7 to 2 days before

Note that it will take about a day for the organizers to contact the accommodation facility.
